As a start, we had need to talk about the process of our researches and debates about intervention. First of all, it is need to draw a frame in the concept of intervention to determine the attitude, style or topic of the presentation. To do that, we asked billions of questions about intervention to each other, before giving some answers. Many questions caused other many questions and at the end, we had a huge, massive pool of questions. On that point we had to pick some of them in that big pool, for having a start.
Than we asked: “What makes an action an intervention?”, “What transforms an intention to an intervention?” At the end, we had: “What is intervention?” we seriously had to find right question to prevent wrong answers. To give a first answer to the first question, we said, “In certain perception, intervention is basically, an action/reaction that tries to differentiate a situation from its initial state to another any state that does not exist yet. After saying “actions”, we thought about the huge scope of “action”… almost all kinds of actions in different disciplines. And, we again started to asking, then we ended up with was, “The actions between human and nature in the scale of intervention.”
Shortly, the big interaction between nature and human being inter(ac)vention.
In fact, the video we watched was just the introduction to a documentary. Zeitgeist is a documentary series consisting of three parts. First of all, it should be understood that in the three films so far, the subjects are connected to one place. How a few bankers and high-class people use the things that awaken fear, such as religion, terrorism, for their own purposes. In other words, the zeitgeist series processes topics such as terrorism, religion, economy, behavior patterns separately and dissolves in a single pot. To summarize, a few high-ranking people hold the world’s economy and take away the freedom of the people from their hands by creating crises, battles, terrorist incidents and a fearful environment with enforced laws and gigantic money and by religious institutions and sects. There is a solution proposal for perfect zeitgeist series; resource – based economy. They say that this solution is not perfect, but it is useful thousands of times at the current level.
The Zeitgeist tells the story of expelling themselves from the earth where they lived, as if we had a place to live elsewhere in the world. It reveals in a totally realistic and striking way how people thoughtlessly and slowly destroyed the world for their own interests. Despite living with millions of species in a tiny world in the eternal depth of space, it reveals that how people behave irresponsibly like supreme ruler of the universe. Even though inanimate beings behave very harmoniously in this order, it allows us to anticipate where mankind and living things are going, because of our unavoidable ambitions and interests. And it clearly emphasizes that even the slightest things we do, will come to our heads in the same way as a reflect on mirror. Also, how strong we push this pendulum, its collision to us will be so strong and destructive. And we’re never going to be able to stop this trend like being a cancer cell. The end of this process does not look bright, we are preparing our own doomsday.
For whom the bells are ringing? We unconsciously try to re-form the nature, just like we are the only living creatures in the universe. We consider ourselves the most intelligent species on our planet. However, we are the worst. What are we doing in this world? Who brought us there? What is our mission on this planet? Perhaps we will never understand it but it seems that the only mission is to continue with its destruction. We act like the one and only rulers of the nature, even though we are just an ordinary species who evolve in the nature. And that attitude causes a chain of uncontrolled interventions and consequently we cause a huge devastation in nature. We do that to our own home. We think we beautify our lives, we think we simplify our, we think we ease our lives. Just because ourselves, just because our selfish presence… However, we only damage our own mother earth and naturally we damage our presence. And, we are doing it so reflectively, so constantly, so unconsciously that we do not even care that we are getting closer to our own end. We just do not care. We have radioactive cell phones, we do not care. We have unnecessarily, huge and luxurious houses, we do not care. We have massive, concrete hotels right in the middle of the forest, we do not care. We have unneeded, illusion, superfluous fashionable clothes, we do not care. We have lots of cars to get faster, we do not care. There have probably been between 10,000 and 250,000 wars in human history and we are still fighting for money, weapons, power, military, and we do not care. We have nuclear power, just for possible and an urgent war, we do not care. We have double lined roadways and all we do is not to care.
Simply, we are nothing but a big threat for nature. And even more not only for the nature, we are also threat for ourselves, we have proven that enough. We kill children, we kill our people, and we just do not care any of those. It has been unquestionably, undeniably and inevitably clear the we had and we have and we will have such interventions that nature will say “stop it” to our miserable actions. And, the most ironical point, we do not hear the bell tolls. We do not even aware that for whom the bell tolls. We just do not care. And we will pay it, any how. We do not are nature maybe, but nature cares. After all these years with extreme devastating, nature will start to talk and we will be silenced. In any case, its protection is in our hands. They were there long before us, and we are nothing but their guests. We have become invaders of their territory and we are destroying their homes. They were tolerant and we were forgiven several times but we continue to ignore their situation. We were their kidnappers, their assassins however they accept us like theirs and, at this point the progress will start to work oppositely. Or, the wheels will be rolling against human being. After our actions, our interventions, nature will definitely re-act. Of course, it wills not a punishment, but it wills a natural, recital reflex. Because, one intervention causes an another one, and at the end -because of a repetitive interventional circle of reactions between human and nature- a re-reactional process will be certainly relevant.
